Jamorama, however, is a less solid product than top-rated subscription lessons, such as Jamplay

We gave Jamorama 4 stars. Jamorama is not as comprehensive as other subscription based services such as Jamplay, but it still contains valuable information about learning guitar. The lessons are easy to follow, the videos are of decent quality, and the software was easy to use. If you are completely against the idea of paying a monthly subscription for guitar lessons, Jamorama is probably your best bet.
The Jamorama course consists of Videos, PDF Files, Audio Tracks, and Software Components. For the most part, you follow a lesson plan, which begins at the assumption that you have zero guitar experience.
First, you walk through the Beginner lessons, consisting of 54 videos, 16 audio tracks, and a 100 page PDF file. This section is focused on chords and progressions.
Next up, you'll walk through the intermediate lessons. This section includes 94 videos, 10 audio tracks, and a 150 page PDF file.
Also included is a tuning guide (PDF File), a chord kit (Software reference and PDF file), and 4 learning games. The learning games focus on Chords, Ear Training, and Sight Reading. The software also comes with a metronome and a guitar tuner.
Jamorama has a full-time staff of 7 musicians. The two founding guitarists have over 20 years of combined experience playing guitar. All of the teachers have many years experience teaching guitar.
Jamorama is aimed at the complete beginner, and doesn't offer much instruction beyond that. If you are a complete beginner, Jamorama may be a good choice. However, it is more likely that you'll progress faster and be more satisfied with a product like Jamplay. If, for some reason, you are 100% against paying a monthly subscription for guitar lessons, go with Jamorama.
